Yo Yo. Its the day of the slush cup. The reason I have been sticking around in Banff! Today they close the lifts and the season is over. But not before a bit of a shindig. Involving alot of beer a a small kicker into a very large and freezing Pool! Not to mention some fantastic costumes! An amazing effort by a lot of people and a fair bit of nudity as well for good measure. The day started great. got up the and had a good ride around the snowpark for the last time and then started on the beers! Cleverly stashed up the hill several days earlier so as to avoid being busted by the police. Everyone was search on entrance to the gondola. So the day continued to be awesome. Getting pissed with Veronica and Charlie and Dave watching drunken fools try to hurl themselfs across a freezing cold pool. Few were successful! all the more entertaining to watch though. Then when to compertition was over I decided to go for a few more runs and finaly mangaged a backside 180 off the XL Kicker! yes had wanted to try it for so long. Turns out all I needed was a bit of liquid confidence. Sweet! After that me and Charlie and Dave continued to drink in trappers bar till about 5 when we decided we best head down the mountain and into town. Then came a very stressful 17 minute gondola ride down due to the fact I was busting for a wee! Several attempts were made to urinate out of the cabin doors but the shutting mechanisim was very qucik to snap violently back and I decide the rish was not worth it. Managed to hold it untill the bottom and dashed out and straight to the facilities.
More to Come!
I hitched a ride back with some Canadian guy. He stopped and said he will take me where I need to go. Really nice guy friendly fella. And he had already picked up another guy gong all the way to Canmore! 22 km away. Turned out he was pretty religious and whipped out some bible passages on us. Pretty sound guy and was a good person to have on the planet. His belifs were a little strong for me but I had a lot of respect for his faith. The other hitcher was not quiet as tolerant and turned out to be pretty racist. He was Scottish and had moved here 7 years ago to get away from all the immigrants entering the U.K How ironic!
Then back at the hostel I wolfed down a bit of food and me dave and charlie met up in the hostel bar. got a few beers down us while listening to a pretty awesome band called the "The Hangers" Check the out.
